If there's one thing that all authors would love to have, it's bestseller status. In terms of Amazon, this means earning one of those important orange flags.
A few years ago, some publishers (not any that I wrote for) had a phase of putting their fiction into non-fiction categories specificlly to increase the chances of getting to number 1 in that particular chart.
For example, I'm thinking now of a novel that included a heroine who was a dressmaker, and the publisher entered the book into the 'Embroidery' non-fiction category, where - surprise, surprise - it outsold the actual embroidery books and got an orange flag.
I'm happy to say that this practice seems to have died out. I never liked it. (Perhaps you disagree?) And I'm pleased to say that my own books have always been added into appropriate fiction categories.
Which made it all the more wonderful for me to find an orange flag next to The Red Cross Girls recently.

And in case that one's a bit blurry.....

By the way, don't be fooled by that 'Book 1 of 2'. There will be more than that, but Amazon has only the first two currently on its pages.
So, if you're one of the people who helped get the book up there to the number 1 slot, I'd like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you. Consider yourself hugged!
