A Look Back At May

Posted on 1st June, 2023

Today I'm taking a look back to May, which was a good month for both the newly published Courage of the Railway Girls and the forthcoming Christmas Wishes for the Railway Girls. Both have done well in the Saga chart. Here is my favourite pic, taken early on in May, showing them side by side and looking very lovely together!

Meanwhile I hhave been busy writing book 9 in the series - which now has a title - Springtime with the Railway Girls, which was the choice of my editor, Katie.

As well as writing, I've also been both editing and copy-editing. In fact I'm busy with copy-edits for Christmas Wishes this week.

If you follow me on Facebook, you'll know that there were two book-birthdays and hence two book giveaways this month - for The Poor Relation and The Railway Girls (book 1).

And New Beginnings for the Surplus Girls has been garnering some lovely reviews, including this from Northern Reader:

"The writing, especially the dialogue, is lively and enjoyable... Heron is very good at seizing on the real problems that people, especially women, faced at the time, and writes persuasively of the effects of discrimination."

So there we have it - my round-up of May.
