A Few Days in Llangollen

I was away last week for a short break in lovely Llangollen. Here are a few pics for you.

This photo shows the River Dee with Llangollen Station over to the right - you can see the dark red coaches.

We were so lucky with the weather on our holiday in Llangollen. We went on a horse-drawn boat trip on the canal.   This is the canal wharf.

The boat trip was in the morning. Then in the afternoon we went for a walk along the canal to find Horseshoe Falls and we took a picnic with us. Thinking we had another half-mile to go, we settled down and had our picnic, then we set off again, walked around the bend in the path - and there was Horseshoe Falls right in front of us!

We travelled on the heritage railway on two different days. The first time, the train was diesel and the second time, it was steam.

We had a lovely relaxing time away and were very lucky with the weather. As we left on Friday, the heavens opened and it rained more or less nonstop for the next two or three days.
